Sunday, September 11, 2016 House of Cards, Season 4 2016

Finished the last of the new House of Cards season,
plus saw one more Touch.

Also tried to cancel my Watchever.

Sept. 3, 2016 "Touch" "Fear the Walking Dead" and "Transendence"

I just rewatched the first two episodes of "Touch" with Kiefer Sutherland on Netflix. I don't remember when I saw it before. The 11-year old autistic son sees patterns and numbers, and connects people in mysterious ways. Very heart-warming in a strange kind of way.

12:04 Just finished ep 3. It's addictive.

Saw 5or 6 of Touch altogether.
Two eps of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2. Don't really like it.

"Transendence", the movie with Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman, through Amazon Prime, was pretty good.

Friday, September 1, 2016 "This is Where You Leave Me"

When their father passes away, four grown, world-weary siblings return to their childhood home and are requested -- with an admonition -- to stay there together for a week, along with their free-speaking mother (Jane Fonda) and a collection of spouses, exes and might-have-beens.  As the brothers and sisters re-examine their shared history and the status of each tattered relationship among those who know and love them best, they reconnect in hysterically funny and emotionally significant ways.

Critic reviews

A sprawling ensemble dramedy that starts out like a full-tilt sitcom and gradually migrates to a place of genuine feeling. Full review

Variety

As This Is Where I Leave You demonstrates, a great cast is a terrible thing to waste. Full review

Once in awhile, a reviewer's darkest suspicions about a film butt up against a sneaky pleasure in its incidental epiphanies. I confess to being conflicted. Full review

Time

The actors expelling the wisecracks are ones you’ll probably enjoy spending time with, and the movie has some honest laughs if you can ignore the mixture of sentimentality and gross insensitivity. Full review

 MEDIATHEK

I had seen this before, but with interruptions. Saw most of it again today, but had a phone call near the end. Understood almost all of the German, except when the father was quoting old German poetry.

 LIVESTREAM

Again, I understood almost everything, except a little dialect.

Finished London Spy, started rewatching Suits

May 10, 2016 London Spy Netflix, Grace and Frankie, Jessica Jones

Just saw the first episode of this bizarre new series. It starts with a very romantic homosexual relationship that turns out to be all lies.

Sat. May 7, saw the first 2 episodes of Season 2 Grace and Frankie, then watched the remaining 11 episodes on Sunday!  Not quite as good as the first season, but lots of nice moments.

At some point in the last few months, saw all available Jessica Jones.

Sunday, March 20, 2016 ELEMENTARY, today Season 2, ep 2, 3, 4

Sherlock Holmes is a "deductionist". Lucy Liu is his Watson.

Also a note to look for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend".
